Asian style secretary with specifically Edo period Japanese Pogoda architecture elements crafted by Edwin Sheriff of Alabama. The primary woods are flame-figured American Black Walnut, with highly figured rosewood (pretty sure Brazilian Rosewood or Bubinga) tiles embellishing the upper drawer fronts. The upper case has multiple compartments, slots, and small drawers to keep everything organized. There are hinged extensions on the left and right sides, so the Secretary can extend to about six feet wide. Also there's a larger drawer in the front of the desktop. A very close and detailed scrutiny of the secretary reveals layer upon layer of fine detail with master-level craftmanship.
Edwin Sheriff won several of best-in-show and First Place design awards with the Alabama Woodworking Guild in the early 2000's
